Dear employees
You are all familiar with the Corona virus, like everyone else we find it very sad that this is happening to all of us.
Veritec would like to inform you about the guidelines we use and answer some common questions.
There are no signals from our government that it isn’t possible to work, so if you are healthy you need to go to your work.
The situation right now in the Netherlands is still controllable. We follow the rules of the government and the RIVM. The Dutch government wants to control the virus by creating group immunity. They don’t want to do a total lock down like other EU countries. For recent information you can check the following site: https://www.rivm.nl/en/news/current-information-about-novel-coronavirus-covid-19. Since this is the Dutch rules, we are asking you and all others to keep working. Many scientists and institutions advise the Dutch government, so we follow their advice and doesn’t take measures on our own.
Yes, our clients are still open and are on a tight schedule. Our clients count on us and you to provide the necessary skills to finish their projects. We can’t let them down!
If you have symptoms such as a cold, cough, fever or sudden loss of smell or taste, stay at home. The normal sickness rules apply. So if you want to report sick, do it by e-mail info@veritec.nl. When we received an e-mail we will call you to check if you have any symptoms.
If you have any symptoms you can get tested to see if you are infected with coronavirus, this will help us control the spread of the virus and protect one another.
Call the toll-free number 0800 1202 (or +31 850 659 063 if you’re calling from a foreign phone). Via this number you can make an appointment to get tested for free.
If you have (mild) symptoms of COVID-19,
You can only make an appointment if you have one or more symptoms of COVID-19, such as:
If you have severe symptoms or belong to an at-risk group, contact a doctor or A&E department. In a life-threatening situation, always call 112.
To prevent sickness and contamination of the coronavirus, you can do the following things:
If the Netherlands will also be in lock-down and you can’t leave the Netherlands anymore. Veritec will do everything to be the best agency as possible. Like you are used to, Veritec always tries to be the best employer. So, in case if we do need to live in quarantine, Veritec will still provide the housing for our employees. Furthermore, you will also receive financial compensation when the Netherlands goes in lock down. But this only happens when you remain working in the Netherlands the coming period.
The reason you don’t get a temperature check is because it is everyone’s own responsibility to keep out of touch with other people when you feel sick or have temperature. Again: We follow the rules of our government. They understand more from this disease then we do. Our clients also follow the rules of the government, so when the government tells them that it isn’t necessary to have a temperature check, our clients won’t do it.
If you travel by car, taxi or passenger van, the guidelines of the RIVM apply. Since 1 July: wear a face mask if you are in a car or bus with people from another household. By traveling less, people end up in fewer places and there is less contact with others. This way the virus can spread less quickly. Therefore, travel less often, avoid crowded places, travel outside rush hour. This applies to all modes of transport.
With or without a mouth mask in the car
Whether or not you wear a non-medical mouth mask in the car depends on the situation:
If you want, you can always wear a face mask in the car for extra safety.
Whether or not a mouth mask and other rules in the taxi
The following rules apply in the taxi:
If you travel by bus or train, it is mandatory to wear a mouth mask.
Update Coronavirus 29-9-2020
During a national press conference, Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport Hugo de Jonge announced new measures to reduce the amount of people coming into contact with one another. This is essential in order to combat the spread of coronavirus. These national measures will come into effect on Tuesday 29 September at 18.00 and will be in force for at least the next three weeks.
Conclusive note:
We understand the concerns, but there is no reason for panic! No one ever solved anything by Unnecessarily panicking. The rules and regulations our clients and we follow are according the Dutch government and institutions, which are supported by various scientists and researchers. I’m sure they know more than we do about how to control the disease.
Our government took precautions really quick, so the situation in Holland is certainly not out of control. Even though the people who get sick every day is increasing, we still have it in control, our hospitals still have enough capacity.
We count on you to remain at your work and finish the job!
Thank you for your understanding.
